Gordon & Silber, P.C. recently lost one of our most dedicated and admired associates. Kathryn M. Walsh, a member of the G&S medical malpractice team, lost her long and brave fight with cancer on September 24, 2014. Katy, as she was known to friends and associates, graced these halls with her incredible intelligence, hard work, kindness, loyalty, beauty and dogged determination since 2009. Katy was a literal tower of strength and humanity. Her office was always open to those who needed a friendly ear and she always made time for people regardless of the stresses and demands of her profession. She developed many close relationships not only with her fellow attorneys, but with the office and lobby staff whom she brought back coffee for and the night cleaners who she took time to get to know while working after hours. She was incredibly hard working, putting in long hours including the weekends. She had a reputation for being a tenacious litigator and a selfless team player, ready to help out in a pinch on anyone’s cases. Somehow, she maintained a full social life and had a great group of friends and still found time for pursuits like marathon training, ballet and reality TV. Her loving family was always part of her conversation, especially her loving and supportive parents, Thomas and Patricia, her sister Marian (her stylist) and her brand new nephew Quinn.
Near the end, even as she was battling for her life, she continued to come to work and maintain a case load. The courage and resolve she displayed in handling what life threw at her was inspirational to each and every one of us here and made us all question whether we were made of similar stuff. She will be forever commemorated on the firm website, and will be forever in our hearts and memories.
