Andrew B. Kaufman is a senior level partner who has spent almost his entire legal career at Gordon & Silber, P.C. He focuses his practice areas on the defense of complex and high exposure accident cases and heads the firm’s appellate practice group.
For over 23 years Andrew has successfully defended clients in all kinds of personal injury cases including those involving premises liability, intentional torts, sports and recreation, products liability, motor vehicles and trucking entities, supervision, property damage as well as medical malpractice, nursing homes, social workers and legal malpractice. He handles cases for a wide variety of insurance carriers and self-insured clients. He is frequently associated with representing the New York Yankees Partnership, The City of New York and the YMCA of Greater New York.
Andrew has successfully prosecuted and defended appeals in the First, Second and Third Departments of the Appellate Division as well as in the Court of Appeals. He assists other lawyers in the firm on substantive motions and appellate issues.
Outside the office, Andrew is an active participant in the Bronx Bar Association’s Judiciary Committee. He has also lectured to clients on various risk management issues.
Andrew graduated cum laude from State University of New York at Albany in 1987 and its Political Science Honors Program. He then graduated Hofstra University School of Law in 1990. He is admitted to the bars in the State of New York, the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York and Eastern District of New York and the District of Columbia. He was selected to the 2015 New York Metro Super Lawyers list.
Andrew lives with his wife, a child psychologist, and their two children on Long Island
