Edward Dondes’ practice concentrates on the defense of medical malpractice and general liability matters from the inception of the lawsuit through and including the trial. Within the area of medical malpractice defense, Mr. Dondes represents and has taken verdicts on a number of hospitals and individual physicians in the New York City metropolitan area in cases involving a variety of complex medical issues, including allegations of failures to diagnose cancers of the breast, prostate, colon, lung and ovaries; alleged obstetrical malpractice; alleged urological, renal, orthopedic, cardiac, surgical and medical mismanagement; allegations of improper emergency room care; alleged misinterpretation of diagnostic studies and lab test results. Mr. Dondes also represents landowners, businesses and hospitals in a variety of general liability matters.
Prior to joining Gordon and Silber, Mr. Dondes was an Assistant District Attorney with the Bronx County District Attorney’s Office where he was the lead trial attorney on numerous criminal prosecutions, including homicide trials.
Mr. Dondes graduated cum laude from SUNY Albany in 1991. He received his Juris Doctorate from Brooklyn Law School in 1994. Mr. Dondes is admitted to practice law in the State of New York, as well as the Federal Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
Mr. Dondes resides in NJ with his wife, Mindy, and three children.
